Lifebulbs flash in my mind on United Airlines’ Boeing 757-500, row 11 seat c. Hiccups of life smash on my windshield and automatic wipers quickly clear them away.
Does this mean those moments will never happen? Is this a smoke n mirror magic show or glimmers of faith?
I loaded my thoughts these past 4 hours with notions of serving others continuously, creating supersonic relationships. I was encouraged ++ to know my creator Jesus Christ is interested in the +details of my life.
The details and details and details and details of my life even when I find them inconsequential. Yes and yes ++
Special Thanks to my wife Chantelle, Erwin Mcmanus and Francis Chan who inserted a handy drive of information in my spirit. This canvas I call life… this life whispers… and whispers are reality.

I Hate Church, Gay, HomosexualPosted by holaratcha in jesus videos On May 22nd, 2009
GAY = SIN from Matthew Brown on Vimeo.
What can you not love about Vimeo? The videos are crafty, content is extraordinary and I always am inspired which leads me to FRIDAY. What I love about Friday, at times I hate. For instance, as I stare back into this weeks hallway I am reminded of many moments and looking forward to engage past paintings with future masterpieces…
Gay, Gay, Gay, Gay… I feel is all people talk about. The other day I caught this video and have never seen anything captured in this light. I already know, if you are a homosexual, you will leave me comments about how you hate church and that is why you will never go back. If you are not gay you will erupt with comments about Adam and Eve, Sodom and Gomorrah and so on. which leads me to my next point.
Take a step back, a deep breathe … both gays and straight folks. If you are gay and you feel the church hates you and people screaming your going to hell, please allow us to apologize for those individuals who are throwing emotional and passionate punches. Jesus cares about you, He cares about your feelings, He wants you to talk to Him, He believes in the gifts inside of you, He always knocks on your door and no matter what you feel the church has said to you, He is there….
We as a church are called to love, we are called to turn the other cheek when punched. When Jesus was beaten, spit on, he opened not his mouth…. CRAZY. Ol boy was getting slammed to pieces and still allowed to love to shine. Let us not look at how to “judge the sinner” but let us come together in “loving/covering the sinner”. UH OH UH OH… i hear it already, you are Pro-Gay…. check out what they would have been saying about Mary Magdalene, an alleged hooker as she washed Jesus feet with perfume…. imagine THAT blog…..

Church Sucks Take The ChallengePosted by holaratcha in churchy suXXX, jesus stuff On May 20th, 2009

Interesting site I came across the other day, {Church Sucks: Take The Challenge} forgot about it and then rediscovered. Great way to find out their community needs and actively meet them. Church Sucks Challenge
As I often flip through the gospels in the Bible, I always enjoy the relevance Jesus brought to the community he was speaking to. Whether it was religious Pharisees or criminals {posted on the left and right of him on the cross} He brought the message into their vernacular.
Fortune 500 companies communicate in Fortune 500 lingo in their boardrooms but are then translated to US… the consumers. Starbucks has names of coffee beans and drinks that no man/woman on this planet could explain and instead translate it to US… the consumers.
Ford motor has built cars since 1903, the worlds 4th largest auto maker. When Ford builds an automobile there are many layers of communication to forge together all parties. This internal communication ultimately welds this machine into existence. When Ford decides to sell US… the consumers, they translate all components of their machine to an understandable language.
clarity + communication = jesus

America is Pro-LifePosted by holaratcha in uncategorized On May 17th, 2009
:: GREAT JOB CHURCHES OF AMERICA ::
What a shock to open up my Macbook, hit {home} and view front page of the New York Time “Opinonator” and read, “Is America becoming a Pro-Life nation”? Of course my curiosity peaked and I scrolled and clicked to read. Apparently Gallop Polls conducted a revised study of Americans views on abortion.
The current views show 51% of America says they are Pro-Life and 42% saying Pro-Choice.
As a church, we must continue this momentum, and show our love of “Life“. The destiny of a life is limitless and a major victory for America embracing Pro-Life. Generation X, Y thanks Generation B (Baby Boomers) for their relentless pursuit of Life.
Here is the link for the NY Times article, check it out…

Hillsong United a_Cross//The_Earth Unites ChurchPosted by holaratcha in uncategorized On May 15th, 2009
Most recently I was able to get my hand on an early edition of Hillsong United latest album entitled a_Cross//The_Earth and to my surprise it was just what the doctor ordered.
Such a great site to see a group of Jesus influencers uniting churches locally and globally through the name of Jesus. Does it get any better than that? It is almost the most cheeseball statement you can ever say, but when its true…. its so harrrrrd. People are actually doing this…. it really is possible, question is…. will you join?
i Hate Church publicly applauds the team of Hillsong United, ::starting from the top with Pastor Brian Houston and his leadership team:: along with Joel Houston, Reuben Morgan, Matt Crocker, Sam Knock, Braden Lang & Heather Stevens, Dylan Thomas, Andrew HoodTroy Munns, Brandon Gillies, Benjamin Tennikoff
Now is our time church to root eachother on, to United and mobilize the name of Jesus a_cross//The_earth. Exciting times!! Be sure to download the album from iTunes next week when it launches in the United States.

Lessons from ObamaPosted by holaratcha in LOL On May 13th, 2009
Here @i hate church we thrive on communication. The other night, our President held a correspondence dinner in Washington DC. Normally these dinners are dry, boring somewhat intense …. which is why we should take note of how President Obama addressed this occasion. He put on an amazing show, hilarious… which caused me to imagine….
We have an opportunity to cause Millenials, generation X Y and generation B to Love Jesus, to Love Church and change our community. We can influence the generation Y workforce… if President Obama could do it. …
Take a look at this video and think about how to communicate to others. Can we surprise people with our language? Can we make light of situations causing ears to listen? Jesus was a master at effective communication, how can we improve ours?

i Hate church vs church PlantingPosted by holaratcha in jesus videos On May 11th, 2009
We recently returned from sunny, hot, humid Orlando, Florida but not before we had an amazing opportunity to sit next to an international church planter. Randomocity is the coined phrase I like to use when stuff like this happens. So here we are, row 10, American Airlines and Ricardo Tadeu from Portugal squeezed past us to secure seat 10F (window).
It wasn’t long before my head was buried in Colossians, 1 Timothy and some Proverbs. I of course glancing over to see what this young man was reading how had stolen that window seat which would have allowed a selfish American to SPREAD OUT. I noticed he was entrenched in a business communication book, nothing really eye catching, just appeared like any other young bloke trying to get an edge on life.
When BAM! he leans over to ask, are you guys Christians? To his response, I picked up my holy head up from my Bible and said “ya bro, are you?” He had an accent so I was trying to figure out where this convo was going but it soon was all understood when he let us know he planted churches around the world. My thought was wow!… 31 years old, seemed very excited, hailed from Portugal which sounded cool…. and someone sitting next to me I could be inquisitive with.
The barrage of questions was instantaneous…
What is church planting like?
How many churches have you planted?
Obstacles?
Victories?
What men are mentors in your life?
Why you in America… and on and on and on……
It was refreshing to talk to with international flavor discussing the Bible. It reminds me of how important it is to ask questions of others around you because you do not know where wisdom will come from. Ricardo Tadeu spoke for about an hour and it was better than going to the movies or watching American Idol….. it would be a tough call to put it up against the Chicago Bears…. but the moment and communication was divine and inspiring.
Are you wondering what he said he took away from the business book he was reading? Well, here it is…. :::PASSION::: Whatever you are communicating if it is not infused with passion, people most certainly will not take interest. You say, but I am a really good communicator…. The world these days are filled with so many great communicators it is your duty to become better…. if you do not, someone already has.
church planting is communication and without the Passion for changing lives through Jesus… your words will fall on deaf ears. You are doing Jesus a disservice when you remove passion. His passion for us is eternal life with him….. Damn thats hot! like whooooooaaaa! Turn your sofa over, throw some clothes out of your closet and live with PASSION.
i Hate church says: “embrace passion, explode the word of God internally”
Do you have :::PassIon:::

Building Momentum in your ChurchPosted by holaratcha in jesus videos On May 1st, 2009
I receive a text from Justin Mayo in Los Angeles explaining to me 400 people need housing. We then go on to discuss Invisible Children which leads me to doing my own homework on their organization. My mind was racing, my heart began to beat faster…. was I actually taking part in something special?
In an instant, this simple text message went from odd to opportunity. I thought to myself, “why me?” and then i dismissed it and said “why not me?’ I instantly sent out an email to my dad Robb Thomson explaining to him this unique opportunity… to my surprise… HE JUMPED ON IT. The past 12 hours I have scoured the internet digesting all I can concerning Invisible Children and possibly hosting their team at Family Harvest Church in Tinley Park, IL.
I got ahead of myself here…. This organization began an “abduction” initiative starting in Los Angeles, California to raise awareness for children in Africa abducted by Joseph Kony. This man Joseph Kony resides in Northern Uganda and is responsible for abducting over 20,000 children and putting them into his army. Most of these children will never see their families again.
Which leads us to NOW… The Invisible Children team has been rescued by Oprah this morning in Chicago and will be in the audience for today’s show. We now wait and see if we can aid this group of nearly 500 strong which is building momentum in our church. Serving another, rooting another on is the simplistic nature of Jesus…. Maybe your church needs momentum like this?
