I Hate Church, Gay, Homosexual
GAY = SIN from Matthew Brown on Vimeo.
What can you not love about Vimeo? The videos are crafty, content is extraordinary and I always am inspired which leads me to FRIDAY. What I love about Friday, at times I hate. For instance, as I stare back into this weeks hallway I am reminded of many moments and looking forward to engage past paintings with future masterpieces…
Gay, Gay, Gay, Gay… I feel is all people talk about. The other day I caught this video and have never seen anything captured in this light. I already know, if you are a homosexual, you will leave me comments about how you hate church and that is why you will never go back. If you are not gay you will erupt with comments about Adam and Eve, Sodom and Gomorrah and so on. which leads me to my next point.
Take a step back, a deep breathe … both gays and straight folks. If you are gay and you feel the church hates you and people screaming your going to hell, please allow us to apologize for those individuals who are throwing emotional and passionate punches. Jesus cares about you, He cares about your feelings, He wants you to talk to Him, He believes in the gifts inside of you, He always knocks on your door and no matter what you feel the church has said to you, He is there….
We as a church are called to love, we are called to turn the other cheek when punched. When Jesus was beaten, spit on, he opened not his mouth…. CRAZY. Ol boy was getting slammed to pieces and still allowed to love to shine. Let us not look at how to “judge the sinner” but let us come together in “loving/covering the sinner”. UH OH UH OH… i hear it already, you are Pro-Gay…. check out what they would have been saying about Mary Magdalene, an alleged hooker as she washed Jesus feet with perfume…. imagine THAT blog…..

Here is my way of looking at it. Jesus loved us more than we will really ever know. Jesus gave His all, so that we might become one with Him again. He paid a heavy price for our sin, at the end of it to receive His reward. The joy that he saw at the end of the road was us. Jesus is willing to forgive the sinner, its what He died for. Jesus hasnt changed, the same way he extended himself to the sinners past, is the same way He extends Himself to the sinner today.
“Thank God He still does, because I dont know where I would be today if He hadnt.”
But what about us?
How do we show Jesus that we are thankful for the price He paid? How do we express our love to Jesus? Not the way we think He should receive it, but the way He requires to receive love. Basically, like 5 love languages book expresses it, what is Jesus’ love language?
He tells us, if we love Him, we obey Him. It’s like a couple who gets married, vows are exchanged and promises are made. There are now requirements that must be followed throughout the marriage. Such as honestly, faithfulness, love, loyalty etc. Now for example, if the husband breaks those vows, the wife will be hurt and his love for her will be in question. What if He continues to cheat on her, what does his actions say to her? Do you think that she is really going to believe he loves her?
Actions reflect the heart of an individual. The reason why one shouldn’t live a life of homosexuality is because it hurts Jesus. This isn’t what he planned for His creation. He died to receive us as His reward, when we continue to “cheat” on Him, it brings Him pain and He is unable to receive the reward He died for.
Jesus is ready to receive any and everyone who comes to Him, but just as He told His disciples. If you are going to follow me, you have to take up your cross and follow me. Coming to Him is the first step, but becoming a follower is another thing in itself. Followers, follow Jesus and lay everything down to show Him how much they love Him.
How is someone who is a homosexual showing Jesus they love Him and are thankful for what He did? It’s completely opposite of what He is asking, if you love me, obey me. The fruit of repentance will show if that person has truly repented.
Nobody said following Jesus was easy. Nobody said dying to self daily is easy. But it’s what we do to show Jesus that we love Him. By the power of His Spirit, we are able to overcome sin and show Jesus that He is living in and through the vessel He died for.
We have to remember, that Jesus is hurt by many things besides homosexuality. There will be a lot of heterosexuals that spend an eternity in hell too.
Bottom line is this; if you love Jesus don’t do things that hurt Him. If you love your mom, would you do things that hurt her? If you love your spouse, would you intentionally do things that hurt him/her? If you love your brother or sister, would you consciously do things to hurt him/her?
Why? Because you wouldn’t want to hurt the one you love.
Are we more faithful to our spouses, family, and friends than we are to the One who died for us?
I can understand if we didn’t have the remedy for such sin, but we do and we must apply it by faith. Its just like any medication; the medicine will help you if you follow the directions. The Word of God will change your life, if you follow what it says.
One,
Theo

But what do we do with Ps. 5:4-5? Does God hate all who do wrong? What most people do not realize is the “love the sinner, hate the sin” was a quote from Ghandi (who was not a Christian). I think at times we are ashamed of the side of God that conveys “anger” “hatred” “wrath” & “jealousy”, but that side of God is just as perfect as the side of “love” “mercy” “grace” & “patience”.
Take it for what its worth.

It is interesting that people think there is a “cure”. Here is the thing, the only reason men are attracted to women and women to men is because of the biochemical make-up of our bodies. Protein receptors interacting with other molecules (perhaps pheromones) that make you want to procreate. Sex is enjoyable so we perform it so our species can reproduce and survive. The goal of every species including bacteria is to reproduce and populate pass the genes to the next generation. The problem is with the Earth being over 5 billion we no longer have a need to populate and many people can choose not to have children. Evolution is defined as the change in gene frequency over time. It happens, it is not theory, the frequency of genes in gene pools change over time, as some genes are selected for or against. If some genes are not selected against they can enter a population at a significant fraction. Procreation has not been selected for in a long time. From this logic it is easy to see how being homosexual could be considered a genetic and biochemically distinct state from being heterosexual. When people have a sex change they take testosterone or estrogen supplements and it comepletely changes their bodies. Women grow penises and men grow breasts. The olympic comittee will even let someone who has undergone a sex change operation compete as that sex if they have been on horomone replacement therapy for at least 2 years! So why is it so hard to believe that if a man’s body expresses more estrogen than normal they will be homosexual? In fact, by removing the fruitless gene in the fly, Drosophila melanogaster, males begin to court other males. If you are about to say, “Well, that’s flies not humans.” check it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drosophila_melanogaster#Similarity_to_humans
Actions don’t reflect the “heart” of an individual they reflect the biochemical make-up of that individual. Would you yell at your child because they were sad or depressed? If your child had autism would you say he was hurting Jesus? Next you will probably say, “Well, no one has proved that homosexuality is genetic.” No, one has ever proved that Jesus died for your sins either… You say the bible is proof enough that Jesus died and I say Drosophila is proof.
The problem with church today is that it is more mysticism than real knowledge and truth. You’re living in the year 2009 but stuck in 1809. I am a Ph.D. student at one of the best schools in the world, over 80 Nobel Prize winners have been associated with the University of Chicago. Why do you think that 95% of the post-baccalaureate educated people I know are agnostic or atheist? Survey your church and find how many people have a college degree from a “secular” university much less a college degree at all. How many people have Ph.D.s from a department of education accredited institution? I would hazard a guess to say none.
Life is not as mysterious as you would think stop being so mystical about it.

What a great point JZ makes about higher learning and I applaud any person who trades their life to accrue knowledge in their field of passion. Time is our greatest asset. The University of Chicago is a catalyst to world changers and trophy thinkers. Makes us look back at our own lives to say… what are you or I passionate about and how are we mobilizing our passion?
The reason science and christians will scream and yell at each other for the rest of our lives is because science will believe in what they can prove and tangibly understand, while christians exercise Faith. Believing in the unknown. ++Faith++
It is literally that simple. We all have faith in an area…

I am not saying the church and science cannot coexist I just think attitudes such as Theo’s can definitely create a larger divide then needs be necessary. Peace.

First off: God loves everyone. If it wasn’t for the true Christians walking out their Christian faith as God called them, I would never have experienced a personal relationship with Christ. I have to live everyday with my thoughts about how I feel about the same sex..and my past. Jesus loves me..I have a personal relationship with him…when everyone else said He hated me and I was going to hell. I am a new creature in Christ and God is looking for that from everyone “even the homosexual.” He loves us..He just wants to talk to us..
This is my take on it. Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins and everything I would ever do in life. God loved all of us enough to send his son to die for us. I don’t think I am any better than anyone else..even though sometimes I may act like it. I think it’s human nature. Those people who bash certain groups of people and call themselves Christians have definitely not tapped into what God has really called us to do. Love others as we love ourselves. As the church we need to stop the hate and show the love and hope in which we live by. Christ Crucified..
I agree with the post!!!!!!

wow, great post …. i found myself recently taking a step back and finding out how much you MUST rely on Jesus to show love to people you may not feel the inclination toward. Man does not have capabilities to operate in this love all the time but with Christ….. the impossible becomes highly probable.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Roosevelt University, a secular University and am Christian. You might like to read Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. He uses legal/historical proof of Christ. He set out to prove his Christian friends wrong about Jesus, and ended up proving the opposite.

Hi All,
When I was about 20 years old I was living with a Woman that I loved dearly, I was A Homosexual who did not know God who had not had any teaching of God or Jesus in there life. I had it made and was still not happy I had a very hole inside of me that was I think about 6 iches around and empty. I was truly going to take my life and I would have done it, no notes no warning just check out. I saw the pic in my head a hundred times. When I was going to do this 2 ladies came to my front door and rang the bell, I opened the front door and they began to tell me about some guy named Jesus who died for me 2,000 years ago, I let them in and they finished telling me about Him.
I broke and I began to weep, they told me how to receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior and I prayed right there. They did not tell me to go to church or read a bible which I did not even have so I went back to living how I was, But I did notice I was hearing a voice inside of me I had never heard before, It was a loving, kind drawing voice that would say things to me like when I was smoking a joint, I would hear-you know that is not good for you- I did not feel bad or beat up or anything like that just a caring like I had never felt before and that started happening alot, it happened with sex, I would feel a conviction I had never felt before, I began to see things for what they were, I truly can say I was blind but now I could see. It was like someone had taken a blindfold off my eyes, spiritual eyes of corse but I was so subtle that I was just loved out of so much. Jesus saw me and He came after me, and I had no idea who He was or that I meant anything to Him. All I can say is this, whether your Homo or drugy or alcy what ever you are Jesus came to help the sick and those who need a doctor and He is no respector of sins oh excuse me of persons. God is love and here I am 20 something years later and He has brought me a long way and I cannot love Him any more that I do at this time, Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me. Do not let anyone tell you now matter who you are and where you have come from that God does not care cause He does!
God’s JZ and I only have a associates.

Disappointment: I thought this was an atheist site. But now it’s obvious this is about bringing people TO the church, to convince them that they need it, to lead people to believe that without church they will become murderers and rapists and thieves. I appreciate you trying to make people rethink religion and be more accepting of people who are different, but it’s all mythology to me. Good luck.

@Holaratcha You claim to promote compassion towards homosexuals, but at the same time you blatantly stereotype homosexuals and heterosexuals alike. You claim that if someone is homosexual they will react negatively to your views with comments about hating church, while those that are heterosexual will call you “Pro-Gay” and quote the Bible.
As someone who is heterosexual, I certainly am not going to quote the Bible, or fault you for attempting compassion towards homosexuals. In fact, I wish you would actually walk the walk, instead of just talking the talk. You claim we should all be compassionate towards homosexuals, but you then suggest that Jesus is the only solution, as though there is something wrong with being homosexual in the first place.
Furthermore, you claim to apologize for all Christians who promote hate, but you laud the ignorant comment from J. Zotos without apologizing for her “emotional and passionate punches.” Her claim that homosexuality is equivalent to drug abuse and alcoholism and those who are homosexual are “sick” is not only deeply misinformed, but also furthers the negative and inaccurate views about homosexuality that contribute to bigoted ideology.
JZ’s comments about homosexuality are far more accurate than any others expressed on this blog. It is natural and has a genetic and biological basis, and is certainly not a “lifestyle” as many Christians claim. If you would like more information about the structural brain differences between homosexuals and heterosexuals, I would be happy to provide it.

Dear Guest, I speak from experience. I have seen so many People who are Homosexual think that they are the ultimate bad and worst sin out there, my point is this: Jesus died for every one of us, Sin is sin sex out of marriage is the same as adultery, whether it is with the same sex or opposite really does not matter. You know Christians do exactly that, they knock and ridicule Homosexuals and then tell you how they love God and I have sat in Churches and listened to the lovers of Christ bash and make fun of Homosexual’s and I have left there in tears because people will go to Hell because of these so called lovers of Christ. I have not met a Christian who walked in the love of Christ yet who can truly say things about someone who is a Homosexual. I guess my point is Jesus died for all of us and I do believe some Christians will answer for hurting someone who is lost and may never come to Christ because there sin so appauled them that they could not bring them to Christ. What I can say is Why when I got saved did I hear the voice of the Holy Spirit which I had never ever heard before show me what I was doing was not correct and what it was doing to me and how it would have destroyed me if I would have stayed there, Not just the sex but the drinking and smoking dope all of it. I can tell you this Most Homosexuals are hurting people deep inside and yes I know this from talking to many and from experience, and 4 out of 5 are people who have been so hurt as children that it is amazing that they can still get up in the morning and function at all, whether it is sexual abuse or any other, but as for sexual abuse it hits all area’s in your life, mental, physical, spiritual and emotional and the only one that can put humpty dumpty back to together again is Jesus. Jesus went inside of me and took alot of junk out and put alot of stuff in that was taken a very long time ago, good stuff that only He can fix. So I guess before you think I am Punching anyone you consider my motive and that is to let anyone that reads this that God is in love with them and He is in love with you, so please don’t get offended but know this Being made whole is priceless and I can tell you this nobody that has the peace that I do now would trade it for all the tea in china or all the money in the world. Thank you for making me realize why I said what I did. Levit 18:21 and Romans 1. I had to.

For JZ: It appears that all your secular school knowledge has gone to your head! A classic case of “knowledge puffing up”. Well, I keep trying to tell you agnostics and atheists that any true spiritual information is spiritually discerned, so you really can’t understand until you have Jesus, the real Truth, living in your heart.
By the way, I graduated with high honors from U. of I @ Chicago with a B.Sc in Human Nutrition, not long before I was saved, so I guess that blows your presumption about us church-goers somewhat. I actually had such a nasty, arrogant attitude about those “Bible-Thumping Christians” that I caused one to experience significant persecution. It was not really my intention, and I came under great conviction as a result—just one proof that He is real. There will come a point in your life when you will face a crisis and will have to choose spiritual life or spiritual death, despite all your education—hopefully before it’s too late!

Okay so I go to a Catholic High School and in my freshman year our religion book had a chapter on sex and sexuality. In it one of the lessons was on homosexuality. It says that as Christians we are called to love everyone and we’re supposed to help homosexuals learn to live a satisfying life with Christ. I have yet to see a Christian/Catholic group get together saying “Let’s treat the homosexual community the way we should and welcome them into Christ’s arms.” No, instead I see people saying that homosexuals are an abomination and that being gay is a sin.
Homosexuality is not a choice, just like heterosexuality is not a choice. I believe that if people claim to live a life in Christ and then turn around and do hateful things towards homosexuals aren’t truly listening to Christ’s message. He wants us to love ALL people regardless of their differences.
Take this quote from John 8:7
“When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”
If these people think (they are VERY misinformed if they do) that being gay is not only a choice, but a sin and they want to condemn the gay community, they should look at the words of Christ and realize that nobody is without sin and that they cannot judge others.
If you truly love Christ and want to follow His teachings, don’t bash the gays. Love them like Christ loves everyone. A lot of the gays I know feel that Christ cannot love them and that they will go to hell. Instead of furthering this belief, do what Jesus would and show them the light of Christ.

I gave up on the idea of any type of rational communication with theists a long time ago. The inanity of the comments here proves that, “dialogue,” is foolish.
As with SO MANY other issues, Christians are on the wrong side and will have to be dragged, kicking and screaming, out of the middle ages. So it was on interracial marriage, women’s rights, etc, etc.
I am SO looking forward to the post-Christian age we are entering, but we secularists need to be vigilant. Islam is waiting to displace the cross and presents an even obscurantist threat. I’m hoping we can arm all scripture-wielding knuckle heads to the teeth and arrange them in a circular firing squad. For example, I say, “Rah, rah!” for Terry Jones. Burn baby, BURN!
Bob

Jay: It is obvious from your post that you are incapable of “rational communication.” And now, according to you,not just Christians are a threat but Muslims too?!! (trust me Jay, you don’t want to start this war.) But then to suggest that we “arrange Christian to be killed in a firing squad…and we are to believe that you are the “rational” one? Now, who did you say is stuck in the middle ages? You poor unfortunate soul!

Here’s the difference between being gay and being an: alcoholic, drug abuser, pedophile, wife beater, adulterer, porn addict, sex addict, or the host of other inaccurate comparisons I hear Christians spout when the topic of homosexuality comes up-being gay doesn’t hurt anybody. It only offends some peoples “sensibilities”. Something offending someone and being wrong are two totally different things. It is a relationship between two consenting adults. I tell you what, those of you shooting off at the mouth with these types of comparisons, do you have any gay friends? I mean as REAL friends? Not “conversion” or “witnessing” projects. Given the comments on this particular blog I will bet most of you don’t really know anyone who is gay. I challenge you to become friends with someone who is gay and truly listen to them. If you don’t do this, you have no business holding any sort of opinions and judgements about someone else’s life.

Decade Decay -No one is born a HOMOSEXUAL No person has ever been born a homosexual. Yet thousands of people in our country believe they are different by design. They believe there is some natural alteration in their body chemistry that draws them to persons of the same sex, and they say they ought to have free and open homosexual relationships. But God’s Word says they are wrong. A homosexual becomes so through lust, or through the pressure of homosexual or bisexual friends or relatives, which leads to experimentation, which leads to demon infestation and control. It is not what God intended. Before the slogans of “gay rights” became so popular, homosexual acts were called “sodomy.” That term comes from the city of Sodom, which the Bible describes as one of the most wicked cities on the face of the earth.
STREET PREACHING, or Open Air Evangelism, is an often controversial yet valid and important form of evangelism. The Lord can use open air preaching in a powerful way, as Stephen found out in the book of Acts. On Mars Hill Paul preached a stirring message to the Greek philosphers and thinkers–IN THE OPEN AIR!
On this page you can view a short video compilation of General Deborah preaching at the Gallup New Mexico Native American Market. Also find pictures of other ROYAL REGIMENT RAIDERS who we are friends with and whom we want to encourage. You can contact them through the links to their websites.
We want to encourage any and all who let the Lord use them in this way. Keep up the GOOD WORK! Don’t let the enemy discourage you! Know that your fellow soldiers here at AGGRESSIVE CHRISTIANITY are praying for you and beseeching God to bless your work. Our prayer is that God will raise up more ROYAL REGIMENT RAIDERS in this hour, for the need is greater than ever.
If you could use AGGRESSIVE tracts and booklets to distribute please contact us and we will supply them FREE OF CHARGE. If you need prayer support you can contact us for that as well. It is time we stand SHOULDER TO SHOULDER in this terrible struggle to see souls redeemed! We are the ARMY THAT SHEDS NO BLOOD!
