Psalm 125:4 O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you. (NLT)

Spaghetti bolognese, lasagna, pizza, home-made sausage over a coal-smoked fire, gnocci, fresh prawns from the Meditteranean, marsala soaked tiramisu, fresh gelato, pear and ricotta cheesecake… all consumed over the course of 7 days. Cheeses from all regions of Italy to coincide with anti pasta platters and you have yourself the perfect Italian vacation. Obviously, these all come with a hefty caloric price, costing me 60 minutes of daily, nonstop climbing of Montepertuso. Life is about trade-offs, isn’t it?

I started peeling through the Bible this morning and came up with a few words from Psalms which will dig in your heart a bit.

Psalm 126:5 Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. (NLT)

Life is not a microwave, you are the only investment that matters. Invest in yourself. Stop wasting time at what others are doing around you. I read a fascinating story the other day while in my hotel room. I love reading the hotel magazines as they bombard you with more and more advertising of their other properties around the world, expecting you to believe their “unbiased” report. Nevertheless, they do have amazing pictures and on occasion I do find interesting reads such as this excerpt.

Don’t watch and read about your peers, take a look at the masters and greats in your field of interest. In addition, pick up the Bible and find out, as Peter Daniels has mastered saying, “What makes the great, Great!” Peter Daniels on Amazon. Make time to update your skill set. If you are not updating and refining the gifts you have been given then you are essentially burying them in the ground. You have talent, you may just need to update it.

Daily tune in. It seems like something we already know but never do. If you have ever seen a skilled guitar player, they will tune their guitar every time they play. Even if they had tuned it the day before and it was sitting in their case, they will fiddle and tune it again just to be sure. Start with tuning in small bits. Tune your mind, will, and emotions on Christ and listen to the tune.

At first you will not know what you are trying to listen for but as you continue to listen for Him, the perfect melodies will explode in your heart and in all you do. You may think it is impossible for you… we all know, nothing is impossible. Dare to make a change.

Psalm 130:3 Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you.

Let this last Psalm soak in, some call it a digestif. Ciao.
