SO IT STARTS off like this…

I head home, excited to have just received what in my estimation is the fountain of youth.  It is 5:02pm CST on a Friday, and I am punching my aggravating time card and closing my Facebook page down to head home to this new, exquisite level of nutrition. To be totally level with ya, I have been craving this sort of product for a heck of a long time.  I can be a wicked health nut, and simply because I notice how much better I feel.  Don’t get me wrong, I like a solid dose of steroid injected beef, or insanely caged chickens, but THIS was taking it to the next level.  Before you read any further, I am not selling some stupid product, there really is a story behind this nutrition wizard-ness.

Ok.
Great.
You are still here.

Let me continue. I arrive home, take off the top of the cannister and slowly pull off the foil safety seal. I hold tightly, when removing these stupid foil safety seals because (one time) not long ago Captain Speedy Pants poured 64 ounces of some of the highest grade protein powder on his floor.  Being the resourceful kind of guy that I am, I quickly swept it up, doing my very best to eliminate any hair mixed in from my dirty floor.  Lesson learned after 48 servings of dirt-and-hair infested, after workout protein shakes.
I am now staring down the cannister barrel of 969 grams of Super Green goodness by Living Fuel.  I quickly fire up 2 scoops of this stuff, water, a bit of orange juice and let the magic bullet massacre all of it.  36 seconds later, I am sipping on the drink below and launched into a state of superlife.  Read below concerning What exactly These Superfoods are:

The organic vegetables and grasses in LivingFuel SuperGreens have been carefully selected for the breadth and diversity of their healing properties. Barley is a great source of Vitamin A. Broccoli contains anti-cancer phytochemicals. Spinach is an excellent source of Vitamin C, A, and K. Kale contains beneficial carotenoids such as lutein and zeaxanthin, which are related to eye health. Carrots have beta carotene, a powerful antioxidant. And spirulina has the highest concentration of beta carotene, Vitamin B-12, and the rare essential fatty acid, GLA. All of these vegetables are an excellent source of fiber (see SuperBerry) and contain chlorophyll (the pigment that gives plants their green color), which is very cleansing and works to rid the system of heavy metals and other toxins that can damage our health.

So what – the – #### – does – this – have – to – do – with – anything?  I see we have some readers as excited as I am about health and the power of superfood-alistic-expeee-ala-docious.  This has everything to do with the life we have all been given.  You see, screw this whole Superfood talk and let’s find out how you are taking care of the rest of your body.

Below is an excerpt regarding American’s spending averages on gym memberships..

How much do Americans spend on exercising? This question is of considerable importance since as of 2009, Club Fitness reports some 45.5 million people had gym club memberships, generating over $19.1 billion in business. Seemingly endless numbers of treadmills, elliptical, and weight equipment fill large warehouse facilities throughout every American city. Whether it is $40, $50, or even $100+ a month, people line up to pop on a set of headphones and sweat it out for 45 minutes on the bicycle. This does not include the money spent on exercise clothes, classes, and personal trainers, all of which will run up the monthly bill. So the question remains: Are Americans getting their investment out of exercising?
Cost to Exercise at the GymConsider a gym membership that costs $50 a month. Using the membership three times a week (12 a month) puts the per day use at $4.17. That is a great investment, considering for an hour of exercise a person improves their overall health, decreases stress, and perhaps avoids the temptations of sitting on the couch and watching television. In fact, a 2003 University of California study found that the average American watches television 170 minutes a day, more than 9x the amount spent on exercise related activities. At the gym members can still watch television, killing two birds with one stone while maximizing their monthly exercise investment.
Unfortunately, the individuals this dedicated are far a few between. According to Medical News Today, some 80% of gym memberships are rarely or never used. That means that $50 a month becomes more like $12.50 a visit, a steep price to hop on a treadmill for 30 minutes. Such infrequency limits the benefits of improved health and excuses of “not going” will only increase with each passing month. Furthermore, start up fees or three-year contracts lock people into spending money on an investment they aren’t using. To read the article in its entirety, click here:

We know we do a pretty good job at spending money to try and tone up these ugly carcasses of skin.  Another area which is equally important is our mind?  Check out some of these stats concerning academia investing in America.

College on average (in state students) is costing $9,953 which is up 87% since 1990. College on average for (out of state) student including room and board is $29,119 which is up 93% from 1990. 99% of public schools are credited with having internet access as opposed to 50% in 1995.

We put such a value in education because we now see the monetary rewards to a higher education. Students who earn a PHD on average will accumulate $4.4 million dollars in their lifetime. Students earning a masters will accumulate $2.5 million. Students earning a bachelor will earn $2.1 million. Students with only a high school degree will on average accumulate $1.2 and those who drop out of high school will amass on average $1.0 million. See more education facts here

And now for the kick in the nuts!  What are we doing about your soul?  No, not your swagger.  No, not your new sporty KIA hybrid (slash) go cart.  No, I am not talking about a mystical experience you had in Africa.  Not the bottom of your squeaky, clean Air Force Ones.  We are talking about the spiritual part of humanity which becomes lost in translation.

Most people get their asses kicked in the spiritual arena because you can’t buy it on late night tv. You can’t get a last minute bid on eBay or look for it from your local girl scout representative.  Soul needs the most precious commodity you have which is your time to flourish.  Unfortunately, most people forget about their soul until their live becomes meaningless.

We instead spend every amount of energy toward achieving something to make us feel valuable.  We work tirelessly to get the pay raise and score an equinox membership, import car, new black diamond crusted Bell $ Ross watch, Hot Air Brand Gear, Bora Bora vacations and an all organic lifestyle.  So why do we need this soul element?

Good question.  One day my friend, there will come a day when you will look at your present lifescaping and say to yourself, “there has to be more.” You see, the people who come to this point are the tastemakers and brandologists of our time.  They are the modern day barbarians who awake and breathe to conquer.  Thus, they have invested their time in conquering the physical and mental and are now left to the most important and most costly.

After years of neglect your soul will be in the state of a coma.  If it has been years since you have aknowledged your soul you may not know where to begin.  You will try googling “spirituality” and “how to build my soul.”  As we stated before, these methods may show you where to look but not how to look. Since you are a barbaric conqueror, you will look to find a way to win this side of your life back.  The problem is: you cannot do this one alone… especially in a soul coma.

Then – what – the – #### – am – I – supposed – to – do?  If you have arrived at this question, then you must do the following as I once had to do.  I mentioned you will need someone, like a doctor, because you literally need to resurrect your soul in its condition.  This is the time to remember the one person who talked to you about Jesus or someone you once knew who was into all of that sort of stuff.

Jesus is going to be this doctor I just mentioned.  You are going to need a spiritual doctor for this spiritual condition.  The fact that you are interested in reviving this paramount part of your body will speak volumes to him.  Jesus waits at the door of our hearts and knocks.  He leaves the opening part to you. How do I know He is going to be there when I open?

I guess you are just going to have to try now… aren’t you?

    Excellent!!!! Great analogy!

  2. WOW, You started to reach down under with me in the beginning but the transition was excellent when you went spirtual. Thank you. I have huge issues against the ‘health food’ business dating back to 1972 when I sold poison dolomite to people in the name of ‘natures perfect balance…’ later found naturally bearing toxic arsenic with the Ca & Mg blessings. I was a pimple faced clerk…wanting an ideal and finding a squeal of greed.
Zeal must be tempered with wisdom.
