If you are like me you collide into heaps of people who Hate Church or Hate what church represents. What I love about these encounters is their perspective and personal story attributed to their disgust. Here are 5 Hate Church quotes that have helped me understand those who truly Hate Church. How would you respond?

Carnegie

Jane that kind of comment is exactly the problem. We are not ‘called’ to judge others.

Jane Hilt – How egotistical of YOU. Have YOU contributed as much to the world as any of the above? No. Is YOUR towering intellect (sarcasm) to be compared to theirs? You’re the one with ego problems and ignorance – it’s called projection in psychology – taking your problems and pushing them onto others.

However, my favorite, favorite quote on how to live comes from the bible – I have it on a bumper sticker on my car: Psalms 137:9
Bwa-ha-ha, rubbing my hands. I love to follow this instruction, I do it all the time, because I’m a literal bible-follower, and not a “Cafeteria Christion,” picking and choosing my verses. (look up this verse on Google)

Oh boy, “the real truth”. I don’t buy it. Like I said–ego +ignorant =arrogant. And like I said, it’s spiritually discerned. How could you understand?

GREAT men without God are nothing in the end. And I believe it’s how we finish that counts—

All I did was quote the bible. That’s it. Don’t you believe in the bible? Sounds like you are the one with the ego, ignorance, and arrogance to me. I quoted a Psalm, that’s it.

However, I am compelled to rebuke you with another quote from the Bible, New Testament style.

1 Timothy 2:11-15 (King James Version)

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

In other words, go have some babies and STFU.

Wow, nice, gracious, parting words. I refuse to go so low as to personally attack you. Tells all. I recommennd not to abuse Words you know nothing about or don’t respect, and take out of context to injure with!
It’s clear there’s no honest chance of communicating with any reason or logic here, but just mindless insults.

from Mary to Atheists and Agnostics ~ If they can’t believe in God , they should spend at least five minutes a day in silent meditation. During that time, they should think about the God they say doesn’t exist.

Maria Valtorta ~ Mystic given information on the life of Jesus from birth and childhood of the Virgin Mary to her Assumption into Heaven. The books are called Poem of the Man-God while in ecstacy she has books of the “Dictations”.

To believe in “god” is to believe in the myth man created to answer questions about our existence, but with no proof any kind of god exists, it can be misused. which is why the Christian/Catholic church used the Jesus myth to rise to power through religious terrorism in the middle ages, in Salem, but today, its Islamic extremists, using religious terrorism.but even if the world was atheist, we would still fight over what we look like or what part of the world we come from.

Jane- So the men who are quoted up there died believing in nothing. Is that an issue you have? Because guaranteed it wasn’t an issue for them, so it should be of no concern of yours. Not bashing you in anyway, but just saying. I’m an Atheist. I take full responsibility for my actions, I don’t wait to be told by a church figure that something is right or wrong. I know that already. I have morals, but no religious belief. Taught to me by my parents who are also atheists and know the difference between right or wrong. I don’t attack people if they believe in god, as I would hope that a person who believed wouldn’t attack me for not believing. so maybe it’s not the atheists’ morals that should be questioned. Everyone has freedom of choice and freedom of religion which also included freedom from religion.

I used to be a believer in the god of christianity (I even went to a famous evangelical seminary, graduated magna cum laude, and was elected to Phi Alpha Chi. I rejected this faith 25 years ago and have been very happy ever since. To me, christianity is focused on one thing – life after death. Jane above says it beautifully – “it’s how you end that counts.” And this is what disgusts me about the religion. To convert someone to christianity requires that you get the person to totally focus on themselves and something called life after death. If the person does not “care” about this (and I do not), the christian has nothing else to say. Make no mistake about it, christianity requires and demands that each human being focus totally on themselves and obsess out of fear about what will happen when they die. The religion promises nothing about being happy in this life, having money in this life, being successful in this life. It is all about the “next life.” As I say to my christian friends, “If christianity is “true”, I would rather spend eternity in hell with the bulk of humanity than in heaven with the few saved by the god of the bible.”

What I found funny was how the real truth freaked out. It’s not judging to insult someone. Those people had screwed ideas because of what was going on under the skin. I’m on Jane’s side. The real truth didn’t make much sense to me.

God is the truth! These men are the devil’s minions.

Jane, you’re the devil’s minion. You’ve clearly misunderstood the call Christ has placed on your life. Find me anywhere in the NT where it says that it is YOUR job to condemn people. Paul makes it pretty clear that individuals do a good job of that themselves, me included. Perhaps you should reread Romans 2 and ask yourself if you have become a 21st century Pharisee. You’ve apparently missed out on the entirety of the Gospel. Christ died to cover sins AND offer life. And you just proclaim a half-hearted truth that discounts everything after His blood. Besides that, you’ve apparently usurped His divine humility for your own proud judgmentalism, failing to learn how to do that which God Himself demonstrated…forgiving and offering grace. Please lean on Christ & the Holy Spirit, not this foolish “21st Century American Morality” that says people who use 4 letter words, drink beer, or listen to rock music are hell bound. God died and was raised to life so you could learn to love like He did. Please do.

um okay first i guess I should state that I am a christian. secondly to The Real Truth, although you are quoting the bible, you’re twisting the words. you can’t single out verse, that is a misinterpretation. Also you comment about women? yes that is what the bible says about a woman’s role but the bible also says that women are a blessing to men. (proverbs 18:22) and eve was made from his rib..the center of his body near his heart, therefore should be respected..also this applies to when she is being led by a MAN. a real man.
Brandon Brown:Yes the bible says don’t judge but it does say to rebuke (James 5:20). Also you comment about women? yes that is what the bible says about a woman’s role but the bible also says that women are a blessing to men. (proverbs 18:22) and eve was made from his rib..the center of his body near his heart, therefore should be respected..also this applies to when she is being led by a MAN. a real man.
Jane Hilt, i get what your saying but like you stated..spiritual discernment. they won’t see things the same way. yes it’s not our place to judge or label people or call names. (devil minions..) just pray for them

Marcus..i don’t know about that. personally it’s certainly not just about life after death. sure it matters but I think life here on earth plays a big factor and matters. I mean you only get one life. Might as well live it with a real purpose. would you really rather be in hell with the majority of humanity? why? just wondering because to know the truth and turn away is worse then never knowing.

As for the actually topic of this blog, I do think these men are foolish..personally faith is believing the truth (or in this case whatever you may believe the truth may be) Pslams 14:1..a fool says in his heart, ‘there is no God’..besides when your in danger..who’s name do you first cry out? oh God..Oh Jesus help me..oh Lord..feel me? and yes this is my opinion but what if their wrong, and there is a God..then what?
