Beautiful Exchange 2010, Hillsong Music

Beautiful Exchange Review
This review is not authorized nor in conjunction with Hillsong, Hillsong Music or its affiliates. In addition, no monetary exchange has been or will be authorized for this post. Thanks in advance for reading.

I just took the Beautiful Exchange album for a 4 mile run amidst a discolored, purple big toe. I should not have strapped on my vibram shoes on this perfect, summer day in Chicago, but I did. I am paying for it now as my left, big toe is throbbing hard enough I can feel my pulse. So what happened you asked? When I receive new music, especially new Jesus music, especially something from the land of oz … I won’t lie … I get a wee, bit excited. Swollen, purple, left big toe couldn’t hold me down to experience A Beautiful Exchange on the pavement.

It is a dope album, period. Once again the Hillsong team play with their strengths so well. The words are catchy, chorus’ singable and if you are like me, you will hear a few tracks that give you some of them bumps you get when your really, really cold. They have the intangible blessing from heaven. You can’t formulate it but you can catch it. After you buy the album because it is THAT good.

My top song are as follows as well as a list of people to thank for this goodness. Don’t be shy, say thanks … they crushed it!
The Father’s Heart
Like Incense/Sometimes By Step
You
Our God is Love

Brian C Houston – Pastor of Hillsong Church, kind of a big deal
Bobbie Houston – Runs the show at Hillsong
Joel Houston – A really, tall music guy with a guitar
Jad Gillies – His name is awesome and for that you should say thanks

Reuben Morgan – Hillsong legend writer, sorta like Truman Capote
Darlene Zschech – Hillsong legend and aficianado
iTunes Album – Buy it on iTunes
Amazon Album – Buy it at Amazon Marketplace

Those are all the one’s off the top of my head but you can get to their site and say thanks or list your own review on iTunes. You have no idea all of the writers, production crew, staff and thousands of people globally in prayer for this team.

Those of you who don’t like Hillsong and prefer the Thank Me Later or Recovery by Drake or Eminem, let me tell you about a Marine’s playlist I recently scoured through.  His name is Chris and possessed the prototype military personnel playlist. He has your heavy metal workout music, your Lil Wayne, Eminem, Dre, Cudi, Ye, Jay and all of the others in between. So while he is going through hundreds of dollars of music, he finally scrolls through and says “this is my Jesus music“. Guess what your boy had listed… some old Hillsong jump offs. Crazy to see a list of all them strung together but he still recognized those moments when he needed that “Jesus Music.”

The day will come when you need some Jesus music. One day you will get tired of Em, Wayne, Ye, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber lol, and whoever else you have crammed in your mobile music library and will be in dire need for Jesus music. But, but, but you say, that crap is so slow, so lame, it’s all koombayaaaish.  I want a beat, i wanna hear somethin’ hard. Those beats are lame. Let me break it off for you like this, plain chapter and verse.

The reason why the beat is lame is because the Hillsong beat ain’t for your penis, it’s for your soul. The beat ain’t for you to see how many girls you can bag or people you can hustle. The beat ain’t to get you wild so you can lift all kinds of weight at the gym, the beat ain’t for you to roll up and look hard. The beat is for your soul! The ginormous element God created you with that you have neglected like you do when you take a pee and don’t wash your dirty hands. You – neglect – your – soul.

The words are for your broke ass soul to see Jesus. The words are to speak life into you. The words are to remind you that your soul needs some medical attention. The words are for you and Jesus to collide. Think about it, do something about it or just stare in space like the rest of your friends.

Hey team, first time visitor to this site. Not sure exactly what’s going on? Do you hate ‘the church’ or simply dislike what man-made religion aka institutionalized religion is all about? I’m (perhaps dangerously) assuming you are Christ Followers?

P.s LOVE the new hillsong album. “Oh God You are my God! And I will ever Praise You!” Wooooooooo

There is many instances of hate toward church but we mostly discuss behaviors of church which need to be reassessed. A re_education of society in a way.

I am dangerously a christ follower. good to have you on over. feel free to jump into as many playground discussions as you can. love to hear ur thoughts and methods. cheers.
