Salomon Ligthelm the Artist You Don’t Know
A film is – or should be – more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what’s behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.”
Stanley Kubrick quotes (American Film Director and Writer, 1928-1999)
Salomon is my new favorite artist. I don’t know him but am most certain our paths will cross one day. He possesses what many will never know or understand. He can speak without uttering a word. He can scream without ever raising his voice. He can hear without being next to you.
An artist is unlike any other human being. They are so skilled and strengthened so differently most are terrified. They border on insanity but are ok with this distinction. Artists, I believe are simply living out what God commissioned from the beginning of time. They dream, create and build. They stretch formalities and customs. They are creators with their mind, will and emotions.
If you are an artist, continue to create. If you have a dream, detail its process. If music is ringing in your ears, I plead with you to pen it! The building in your brain is there for you to build. The job you desperately desire is waiting for you.
The children you wish to play with are for you. When you tell your friends about the funny commercial you thought of, do it. Create it, educate yourself about it and mobilize. You are created in the image and likeness of God. Never doubt the unfathomable, because then you are doubting God, the creator.
